A Blog is Born!

Ready or not, here I come! I am not ready, but am jumping into the blogosphere with both feet! As is my life, this will be a work in progress.

I admire those that use their blogs to connect with others, inspire, and share their creativity. Those are some of my goals, as well as to keep in touch with friends and family. I am excited about joining this community! I won't be the best or most witty writer you will see out here, but I do hope to share useful information along the way. Besides connecting with others, I am looking forward to the accountability aspect of keeping a blog... I can at least pretend that others are waiting to see that I do what I say I am going to do!

For my first post, I am happy to present our beautiful family at Christmas! There is my sweet, wonderful husband with our precious children.

One of our traditions is opening up new pajamas on Christmas Eve! Well, actually, the tradition is that the kids get to open one present... but even they know by now, it is always pajamas! My goal is to have matching, or at least coordinating pj's for the kids. Over the years, this has evolved into me actually sewing them to insure they match (& to save $$$!!!)! This year, I decided to make ALL of us pj bottoms for the first time. (The tops were purchased on sale at Target and Old Navy.) I thought we looked pretty festive!

Here is our oldest... a bit overdue for a haircut, but still cute! He turns 12 on Sunday the 28th! He was just in a Christmas play at church and was told not to cut his hair, so now that the holidays are done, we will get to it.

Our darling daughter is 9.5 and holding her new American Girl doll from Grama! You have to understand that she prefers stuffed puppies to dolls, always has. But this doll she asked for and really wanted! In November, she was a model for the American Girl Fashion Show and was dressed as Felicity, just like her new doll!

Our little guy is excited about his new Wii Lego Batman game!! (Ignore the messy playroom!) Doesn't he look cute in his pajamas?? I can't believe he will already be 6 in April!

Our Christmas was quiet and relaxing... so much so that I am preparing Christmas dinner tonight! We feel very blessed and content.... keeping our focus on what really, truly matters, despite circumstances. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!!
